Patio guide
How the site works, and how to do each thing — no rush.
The Patio rules
- Browsing listings requires nothing: no account, no sign-up. Anyone can read.
- Publishing requires an account — and it works right away, nothing to wait for.
- Commercial listings (selling, renting out, offering a service) cost 1 credit. Giving away, lending or sharing, trading, looking for, and all of “Lost and found” are free. Your account starts with 3 credits; when they run out, ask the administrator for more — or top up by Yape from your account.
- Your first 9 listings go through a review — a person looks at them before they appear. After that, your listings publish directly.
- If a commercial listing is not approved, you get its credit back: fix it and resubmit. Deleting a listing that never appeared also returns its credit — a free listing has no credit to return.
- A published listing lasts 30 days, then it expires and stops showing. You can republish what is still current.
- Closing is not deleting: closing removes the listing from the list (it's sold, it's found); deleting erases it for good, photos included.
Creating an account
- Tap Create an account.
- Enter your name (the one people will see), your email and a password of 8 characters or more — a simple phrase works, spaces allowed. The eye next to the field shows what you type, against typos.
- Your account works right away: you sign in with your email and password, with 3 credits to publish.
Publishing a listing, field by field
- Type
- What you're doing: Selling, Renting out, Lending or sharing, Giving away, Trading, Offering a service, or Looking for.
- Title
- Short and clear: “Selling 26-inch mountain bike” says more than “Great deal”.
- Description
- The details: condition, size, where to pick up, hours… What you would ask.
- Category
- First the section (Services, Buy and sell…), then the subcategory. It's how people find you.
- Place
- Department → province → district. This is what the listing shows.
- Point on the map
- Optional. Tap the map to mark the spot — useful for a house, premises, a plot.
- Price
- Optional: empty = “to be agreed”; 0 = free. Pick the currency (S/., €, $) and, if it applies, the unit — per hour, day, month, or product.
- Natural or handmade
- Tick the box if yours is handmade or grown — the listing gets a badge.
- Photos
- Up to 5 photos of 8 MB each. The first one is the list thumbnail. If you upload a POSTER with text (an event flyer, say), you can set each image's language: readers see the version in their language. A photo with no language (“All languages”) always shows — the normal case for a motorbike or a plot.
- Versions in other languages
- The title and the description can have a per-language version too: from the listing's edit page (“Versions in other languages”) you write them in Spanish and French. Each reader sees them in their language if it exists, otherwise in the original.
- Event date
- Under “Events and festivals”, enter the event dates; the listing is deleted on its own one day after it ends.
Your listings and your account
- The statuses: Under review (your first listings, awaiting approval); Published (visible 30 days); Not approved (fix it and resubmit — you get the credit back); Expired (the 30 days have passed); Closed (you closed it).
- Edit / close / delete: from My account, each listing has its links. Editing also manages photos: order, language, remove, add.
- Your phone: if you add it in My account, it shows on your listings so people can reach you. Tick the WhatsApp box and the number becomes a direct link — below the field you see the exact link that will be shown: check it.
- Your area: pick a district and a radius, and the listings page offers the “near my area” filter.
- Changing your password and signing out: also from My account.
Category alerts
If you add a WhatsApp number in My account, turn on category alerts: tick the categories you care about. When a new listing is published in one, you get a WhatsApp with the title, the price, the area and a link to the listing page. The “Only from my area” box on a section limits its alerts to your area (it first needs an area saved in My account).
